Cooling System Maintenance
The cooling system must be checked during every maintenance intervals. This includes cooling liquid density, discoloration and pressure testing of the radiator cap.
- Make sure the engine is cold enough to remove the radiator cap.
- Inspect coolant level and color in the overflow reservoir and radiator.
- Pressure test the radiator cap and verify with manufacturer's specifications.
- Perform a cooling system pressure test, do not exceed pressure specifications.
- Verify the system for leaks, including the heater core.
- Inspect hoses and clamps for deterioration.
- Inspect all belts.
- Run the engine long enough for the electric cooling fans to turn on.
- Actuate all knobs on the temperature control panel for proper operation.
